This site is divided into 2 main sections.

1.    The Home page We used to have all the various products and service I was marketing.  We have relocated from Fujairah in the UAE to Norfolk, UK. Hoping to start Maribel Eco Systems as a Company here. After nearly 40 years in the United Arab Emirates I have a lot of interest there, but the focus will gradually change to where we live now. IT'S A LOT COLDER! I have given up on trying to start a business now - after nearly five years failing to climb over all the blocks in the way.

I wanted to make Bio-diesel.  The regulations and all the restrictions and safety and the NIMBY attitudes have disuaded me, and it would have cost an awful lot of money to start. I next looked at a DIY Horse Livery service but a very negative response from the Planners has made me aware just how many obstacles are put in the way of anyone wanting to do almost anything in UK. I considered a fishing lake, but the cost of excavations and the need to collect fees 365 days a year at anytimes from early morning to late evening put me off that.  The Highways said I could not use a small field for caravans because of access problems. I now have about 12 chickens. This seems to be all I can do without falling foul of endless rules, costs, permits, licenses, etc. At least we are saving a bit on eggs. I expect there is some tax to pay on this. 

If it exists, I shall have to find something that does not contravene anyone's sensibilities or rules. I am still looking. I really do not want to sit here and watch my hard earned saving simply disappear and so condemn us to a life of struggling on an inadequate pension. Our only remaining hope is to build a new home on a plot we have so we can move and let the tiny semi, in which we now live.

• My Memoirs, from the days after leaving full time education and joining the Royal Air Force in 1959, as a trainee Air Radar Fitter.  Basic and trade training, The first experiences on Squadrons of AVRO Shackletons  (Mk 1, 2 and 3) in UK and Abroad. Singapore, RAF Gan. Growing up in the 50s and 60s.  Many old historic photos of Singapore, etc. 
• Present Interests: 
• Raising Tilapia.
• Off road in the Emirates.
• Old Engines. 
• The UAE in the Sixties up to now. (All being added to regularly, as I find new photos!)  As I have not sold anything for years and I do not have permission to sell anything in UK. I have stopped trying, there are just too many tax problems.

By the way several people have asked me where on earth Fujairah is located. We spent the last two years of our time in the UAE there.  Well you know the Gulf, it has been in the news a lot lately, it is just outside the Gulf, across the Gulf of Oman from India, See Map.
